Happy Birthday Smile 101 Guildford!
On Thursday 5th December 2019, Smile 101 Guildford turned 3 years old – and what a wonderful 3 years it has been! We have seen so many young and shy children turn into confident, smiling young adults and we feel so privileged to have been part of their journey.
Smile 101 was born in 2004 when our Specialist Orthodontist Dr Sheila Chauhan opened her clinic at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor which has since relocated to 118 St Leonards Road. After a successful 12 years of growth and development using a range of techniques from Damon Metal Braces to Invisalign, Smile 101 needed to expand and she acquired 57 Quarry Street in Guildford.
With Guildford’s history – cobbled streets and boutique shops – it seemed like a perfect town to invest in. The practice was already established as an NHS and private practice just off the high street. Using her 20 years of experience in orthodontics, she rebranded the business and made Smile 101 what it is today. Sheila and the whole team hope to bring many more smiles to Guildford over the coming years.
About Dr Sheila Chauhan
She graduated as a Dentist from Kings College, London in 1991 and gained her Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Masters in Orthodontics in 1998.
For over 12 years, Dr Chauhan provided NHS and Private orthodontic care for thousands of children and adults, from specialist orthodontic practices in High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, West London and Reading.
Dr Chauhan is registered with the General Dental Council and on the Specialist list. She is a member of the British Orthodontic Society, the British Lingual Orthodontic Society, the American Association of Orthodontists, the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry. She participates regularly in international conferences, meetings, workshops and courses to keep up to date with the latest advancements of the profession.
Dr Sheila Chauhan couldn’t have done the amazing work she has without her clinical support team. Some of these names include Simone who works at our Guildford practice on Mondays and Thursdays and our Windsor practice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. She has been with Smile 101 since February 2019 and has worked in orthodontics since 2006.
Angela also works at our Guildford practice every Thursday. She has been with Smile 101 since 2017 and has worked in the field of orthodontics since 2012. She started her journey as a dental nurse before graduating as an Orthodontic Therapist in 2016.
